Akapellah, also known as Pedro Elías Aquino Cova, is a Venezuelan rapper from Maracay renowned for his distinctive Latin hip-hop and trap music, often incorporating powerful rhymes and a unique, unfiltered voice that addresses themes like social injustice, poverty, and inequality. He has garnered significant recognition, including six Latin Grammy nominations throughout his career. In 2024, Akapellah released his album "Pedro Elías," which reflected his personal and artistic evolution and was presented at the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) in New York on July 12, 2024. This album earned him a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song for "La Sabia Escuela," a collaboration with Canserbero and Lil Supa. Looking ahead, his album "Pneuma" is slated for release in 2025, which he describes as his "best version, personal and artistically," and features collaborations with artists such as Neutro Shorty and Myke Towers. Akapellah also received his fifth Latin GRAMMY nomination in 2025 for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song and performed "Parriba" with Trueno live at the event.
